IST vs SAW: comparison by key criteria
1) Exiting the terminal and meeting the driver
IST is a very large terminal, but the exits are well organized. Our driver waits for you with a sign at the agreed meeting point and we track your flight in real time.
SAW is more compact — you often reach the exit faster, which is a plus with kids or a lot of luggage. We also connect with you via Telegram, WhatsApp or Viber.
2) Route to the border and travel time
For Burgas/Sozopol we often use the route to Malko Tarnovo. From IST the northwest exit is more direct; from SAW the drive usually starts through the eastern part of the city. The difference isn’t fixed — time of day, traffic and border checkpoint load all play a role.
3) Night arrivals (00:00–05:00)
Both airports work great at night. SAW is sometimes calmer for exiting; IST compensates with a more direct route. We add a buffer for baggage/passport control and plan convenient rest stops along the way.
4) Families, children and lots of luggage
We offer minivan/minibus options for groups, child seats free of charge for any age (tell us the number and age when booking), and seat belts for every passenger in every vehicle. With very large luggage SAW can be handier thanks to compactness; if time is the priority — often IST.
5) Economy vs luxury
- Economy — best price for 1–3 passengers with standard luggage.
- Luxury (+200 BGN) — quieter ride, more space, extra comforts. Perfect after a long flight, with small kids, or when working on the go.
